The commune of Clervaux is proud to be part of the Leading Hiking Trail Region and to be on the famous Escap'Ardenne route. This makes it an ideal destination for covering miles of wild and ... sporty countryside! Hikers are often surprised by the difference in altitude, and for good reason: the region is carved out of valleys and overhung by high plateaux. This also creates its richness: incredible views of the surrounding forests and rivers. Stage 1 of the Eislek Trail ends in Clervaux, where the second stage logically begins. The label has been awarded to the entire region. As part of the process, new trails were designed from scratch. The Eislek PAD Clervaux, Heinerscheid and Kalborn are three of the routes that stand out.

Clervaux is the ideal destination for lovers of hiking and outdoor sports, just a stone's throw from the major towns of the Greater Region. Luxembourgers, Belgians, Dutch and Germans come here in all seasons to enjoy the peace and quiet of this wild and peaceful countryside. What shouldn't you miss during your stay in Clervaux?
To get a good idea of what Clervaux has to offer in terms of scenery and nature, take a look at the routes of the Eislek PAD Clervaux (1). This beautiful 13.5km loop takes you around the town via its hilltop villages. You'll be able to take in the views over the valley, Clervaux Abbey and the rural countryside around Eselborn, before climbing back up to the dense Poler forest and the village of Munshausen.
For cycling enthusiasts, there is a signposted mountain bike trail (2) of almost 25 km through the north of the valley as far as Urspelt, passing through forests and plateaux. If your accommodation does not allow mountain bikes to be hired, ask at the Tourist Office.
From March to December, the Tourist Office organises "Hiking Meets Local Food" (3). These get-togethers allow you to discover a walk in the commune of Clervaux with a guide and a group of walkers, and then share a meal of local gastronomy in a participating restaurant. Good humour guaranteed! Check here if a hike is organised when you come.
For a typical Ardennes experience, why not try your hand at trout fishing? At the Reiler Weier fishing ponds, 2 km from the centre of Clervaux, you can try your hand at this sport (4). Luis and Éléonore will hire you the appropriate equipment and you can set up in the shade of the trees on the edge of the ponds to try and attract the fish. You may have to release the fish, but the experience is no less fun! If you've never tried it before, you can also hire archery equipment directly from the campsite and make your way to the shooting range.
For families, head to the Robbesscheier domain (5), in the village of Munshausen. Here, young and old alike can have a go at rural crafts. You can choose the workshops you would like to take part in from around ten, including wool weaving, an introduction to blacksmithing, animal feeding, a pastry-making workshop, wax candle making, etc. The centre is set in 6 hectares of nature and woodland.
You won't want to leave Clervaux without discovering the Our Valley (6), a veritable jewel of nature that runs alongside the German border. Two hiking trails depart from Heinerscheid (17 km) and Kalborn (7 km) to discover the unique, undulating landscapes of the Our. You'll hardly come across anyone here, much to the delight of nature lovers.
Located in the centre of Clervaux, the Rhino Steakhouse offers a friendly setting for meat and grilled meat lovers. The chefs offer a selection of starters and platters to share, as well as grilled meats, cooked at low temperature or on the cob. Gourmets will also appreciate their famous hamburger. The Sport bar offers a wide selection of beers and cocktails.
It marks the return of Italian cuisine to the heart of Clervaux! We'll never tire of enjoying pasta, risottos and other traditional Italian dishes. As soon as the fine weather arrives, the terrace in the centre of Clervaux is the ideal place for an afternoon stroll. It's a great place to watch the hustle and bustle of the shopping street.
The Beim Luss bakery, in the Clervaux shopping street, is an ideal address for a gourmet lunch on the go. It offers a range of sandwiches, small dishes and soups. Ideal for preparing a picnic to take with you on your walk.
Just like the Bourg restaurant in Wäicherdange. You won't find a better place to stop for a typical meal while exploring the region. The lady of the house will serve you the best soups and comfort food you've ever tasted!
In the shopping street, try the grilled meat specialities at Snack Time. Just next door is Open Rice, an excellent Asian restaurant.
