Festivities 80th anniversary of the Liberation

The municipality of Clervaux and the Cercle d'Études sur la Bataille des Ardennes (CEBA) invite you to the festivities organised on 14 and 15 December to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.

On Saturday 14 December, the day will begin at 4pm on the Place du Marché with an official ceremony, accompanied by music, speeches and a vin d'honneur.

A highlight of the day will be the unveiling of the Sherman M4 A3 (76) W, followed by a thematic lecture on the battle given by Dr Walter S. Zapotoczny Jr, historian of the 28th US Infantry Division.

On Sunday 15 December, another lecture will be given by Mrs Lieutenant Manoni of the Luxembourg Army, at the Château's cultural centre. From 12.00 noon, visitors will be able to take advantage of a drinks and snacks stand provided by the CEBA.

In the afternoon, at 2.30pm on the Place du Marché, there will be a historical presentation of the ‘Eng Reess duerch d'Vergangenheet’ tank, followed at 4pm by a wreath-laying ceremony near the GI monument.
